FIRM PROFILE

Following a successful career that spans more than a decade as one of New York and Connecticut’s most prominent attorneys, Anthony J. Medico opened his own general law practice in Greenwich, Connecticut in 2002.  Prior to establishing this new practice, Mr. Medico, was a Partner at the prestigious law firm, Flood Donohue Johnston & McShane, P.C. of New York, where he represented a diverse group of clients in a variety of legal matters. Prior to the Flood firm Mr. Medico served as counsel for Smith Barney/Travelers, and for the world-wide law firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker, LLP, in the Manhattan office.  Through comprehensive knowledge and versatile experience, the attorneys and staff at Medico & Associates, LLC continue to serve the Business and Residential community by achieving effective results. 

 

In 2012, the Hon. Chase Rogers, Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court appointed Mr. Medico to the position of Attorney Trial Referee (ATR) in the Connecticut Superior Court where he presides over non-jury trials.  He was also appointed to the position of Factfinder/Mediator. Mr. Medico is also a Hearing Officer for the Town of Greenwich.  The firm participates in legal seminars, professional associations and many community organizations.

 

The firm practices in the State and Appellate Courts of New York, Connecticut, and the District of Columbia, as well as the United States District Courts of Connecticut and New York’s Southern and Eastern Districts and the United States Supreme Court.

Medico & Associates, LLC is a general practice firm that engages in a variety of legal areas including Real Estate (Commercial & Residential in New York and Connecticut.), Wills, Trusts and Estates, Business Acquisitions and Formations, Asset Purchases, Contracts, Litigation and Arbitration/Mediation.

Mr. Medico has considerable experience in real estate law concerning both the commercial and residential sectors and he works as counsel with a variety of financial institutions.  Regarding estates law, the Firm assists its clients in determining the proper methods to ensure asset protection and distribution, as well as consideration of all taxation issues.  The Firm prepares Wills and Trusts with unimpeachable standards. The Firm engages as counsel in a variety of business transactions ranging from preparation/review of lease agreements to extensive business and asset purchases.

Regarding litigation, Mr. Medico and his Firm represent clients in a variety of legal disputes ranging from personal injury to complex litigation and class actions.  While practicing in Manhattan, Mr. Medico oversaw litigated matters with a total financial exposure exceeding One Half Billion Dollars.  The Firm successfully acquired a $1.8 Million Dollar jury verdict in Manhattan Supreme Court in a highly publicized police shooting, and was successful in all 

 

subsequent Appeals.  Recently, Mr. Medico successfully litigated a products liability defect case against the well-known clothing, shoes and accessories manufacturer and designer, Prada, in Stamford Superior Court.  In August 2016, Mr. Medico won a defense verdict and an award of over $251,000.00 in attorney’s fees and defense costs after an extensive arbitration involving 13 days of testimony and over 30,000 pages of documents in a corporate breach of fiduciary obligation case.

Mr. Medico’s local and regional networks, along with relationships cultivated throughout his career, from coast-to-coast, all contribute to his ability to consistently achieve successful results on behalf of his clients.  Not only is he thoroughly knowledgeable concerning local matters, Mr. Medico offers the added benefit of legal experience in several other states, plus an extensive background that includes proficiency in many areas of law.
